FOUNDATION STUDIES
Not sure what you want to study? Been a while since
you last studied? Worried or nervous about entering
a study environment? The Certificate in Introduction
to Study, Level 2 or 4, can help.
It's designed to prepare you for tertiary study by
developing an understanding of what is expected
at a tertiary level, and providing you with the skills,
knowledge and confidence needed to succeed.

STUDENT LEARNING SERVICES
If you need help with your studies, there's a team of
people at Wintec whose job is to provide that help.
They offer a mentoring programme along with one
to one, small group and workshop sessions on topics
ranging from introduction to study, reading and essay writing to science, maths and study skills. |
MOODLE
Moodle is Wintec's online learning and teaching tool
containing programme material which may include
lecture notes, research material and practice tests.
If you have a computer and an internet connection
you have Moodle at your fingertips, enabling
you the flexibility of studying from home, or
anywhere, anytime.
LIBRARY

There are two main libraries at Wintec - one on
the City Campus and one at Rotokauri Campus.
Both provide a huge range of resource material from books, newspapers, specialist journals and exam
papers to DVDs, audiotapes and more.
Thames and
Te Kuiti Campuses also have library collections and
material can be sent to students studying by
distance learning. |
COMPUTER ACCESS
Computers are available to all enrolled students at
all Wintec campuses. The Gallagher Hub at our City
Campus has over 130 computers for students to use
24 hours a day, seven days a week.
The City and Rotokauri campuses also have wireless
hotspots and ITS Service Management Team to assist with using the
computers, printers, scanners and Mytec.
MYTEC
Keep track of your timetable, check your emails, get
your results, study online, do it all in one place, day
or night, from anywhere, online in Mytec.

Login into Mytec and get everything you need online in one place! Mytec is available at any time of the day or night and you can access it wherever you are - whether it's on campus, at home or at work.
On Campus Once you are logged in to the network, open a browser and your Mysite (your personal Wintec Student Portal page) will appear. You don't need to login anywhere else - it's all in Mytec.
Off Campus Click the Mytec link below or type in this address: https://mytec.wintec.ac.nz and log in using your Wintec network login.
MAORI AND PASIFIKA STUDENTS

The Maori and Pasifika Learning and Support Centre,
Te Kete Konae is a warm welcoming space that
supports all students, their whanau and staff
at Wintec with academic and learning, financial,
cultural, pastoral and counselling support.

INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS
At Wintec, our dedicated International Centre
provides all the help and support international
students need to settle into their new learning
environment and the wider community. From helping
find somewhere to live to providing pastoral care
and advice, when you study at Wintec you're not just
another student at a tertiary institution… you're
part of a lively community where you learn with each
other and about each other.
