Workshops for Postgraduate Students at Wintec 2012
To support you in your postgraduate studies at Wintec we are offering additional workshops, free to all our postgraduate students.
These workshops are run by a team of experienced lecturers and are specifically designed to support you in your academic learning and provide you with skills across all aspects of postgraduate study.

Human Ethics in Research
The Human Ethics in Research committee meets every third Thursday of the month. Application cut-off date is every second Thursday of each month.
Important Note: A hard-copy of the HERC application must be with the Research Office 5 working days prior to the actual meeting date (as indicated above). Applications received after this date will be held over until the next meeting.
Centre for Health and Social Practice
Health Improvement and Innovation Resource Centre
This is a website established by the Ministry of Health in 2010 with the aim of being the central repository for trusted health information, research and exemplars of best practice in the New Zealand health sector. www.hirc.org.nz
Use of HIIRC has been slowly building since its launch and health professionals are visiting the site in increasing numbers to access literature and resources, with visitor numbers around 15,000 per month. Its focus is not purely academic but instead aims more directly at the practitioner level.
At present the site's holdings include:
- approximately 1,200 New Zealand health literature abstracts dating from 2000 to the present
- selected international literature
- outlines of the latest health initiatives from around the country
- directories of researchers and funding organisations
- current news and events in the NZ health sector
Postgraduate Researching and Writing workshops for CHASP students
