Wintec Pit Crew competition winner announced

Rodney Turton from Huntly (and three friends of his choice) has won Wintec’s exclusive Join the Pitcrew competition, over more than 1850 other entries.

He (and three of his friends) have won a weekend grandstand pass to the Hamilton 400 V8 event, a VIP area with food and drinks, grid walk, tour of pit lane and pit passes, front row seats at the drivers signing session, a photo shoot with the radio sport girls, a chance to meet their favourite V8 Supercar driver - and the ‘crappy’ Hyundai!

Wintec has had the Hyundai, which has a Holden cut out attached to the side parked in various locations around Hamilton for the last week. On the cut out were the details of the competition and a daily text code which the public could text in to enter the draw. The public were directed to the locations via a clue publicised on the 3 radio stations, and via text and email to those that pre-registered on the Wintec website before the competition started.

Rodney spotted the car in Centre Place, Garden Place and the Base and is pretty excited about winning.

Wintec’s V8 site will be located in Casey’s Garden, next to one of the major Park and Ride drop off points and closest overpass. A 30 metre “race and obstacle” car track, which includes hairpin turns, chicanes, tipsaw, and chain bridge will give visitors the chance to drive remote control cars (Holden or Ford) around the track with prizes for the quickest lap, slowest lap - plus pick up spot prizes.
