Social inclusion doesn’t just apply to people with disabilities and mental illnesses.
It applies to all of us – in our roles as family, friends, co-workers, employers, carers, neighbours or service providers.
People get excluded from social interactions, decision-making, education and employment opportunities for all sorts of reasons…because of skin colour, for being an immigrant, a single parent, uneducated or old.
Together with Community Living Trust, Wintec’s School of Social Development invites you to come and listen to Michael Kendrick – an internationally recognised expert on inclusion.

Michael is a renowned leader in human services and community work. His areas of expertise and interest include personalised approaches to supporting people, social inclusion, change, innovation, values and advocacy.
In addition to his masters and doctoral studies in social work and sociology, Michael has worked as the Assistant Commissioner for Programme Development (Massachusetts) and the Director for the Institute for Leadership and Community Development.
For the last 15 years he has advised New Zealand government agencies and organisations in the health and disability sector. He works as an international consultant and speaker throughout Australia, the United States and Europe.
