Wintec House opening soon

Our historical brick corner building formerly known as F block has been named Wintec House and is a hive of activity.

Waikato Chamber of Commerce has moved in, with our Centre for Hairdressing and Beauty moving in next week and Opportunity Hamilton and the Hamilton Central Business Association relocating mid September.

The main construction work on the building is complete with landscaping now the priority to ensure the building is looking smart for its official opening on September 7.

Landscape work includes the pedestrian road in front of the building on the Nisbet Street side, the concrete plaza in front of The Atrium (events space) and the concrete staircases which lead up the side of the building into Wintec’s city campus.

The final touches are being put on Urban Trends – the retail arm of Wintec’s Centre for Hairdressing and Beauty Therapy, where students will treat hair and beauty customers.

The building fit-out has begun and a large video wall consisting of 16 large plasma screens – one of the features of the Atrium – is being installed.

When it opens in early September, the building will house a business hub, Wintec’s Centre for Hairdressing and Beauty Therapy, Urban Trends, as well as a large events space called The Atrium. A multi-storey car-park is being built next door to provide parking for students, staff and visitors.

A public open day is being held from 11am-1pm on Saturday September 18.
