New Home for Students on Wintec's Rotokauri Campus

Students studying at Wintec’s Rotokauri campus now have access to a hub similar to the award-winning Gallagher Hub on the city campus. The $4.5 million technologically-advanced complex, which opened its doors on March 15th, houses a library, health centre, computers, video conference room, café and social space and other student support services.

Wintec chief executive Mark Flowers said the building is part of Wintec’s goal of creating a modern, high-tech educational environment for students in the Waikato region.

“The feedback about our city campus hub has been overwhelmingly positive from students and staff, as well as our community and business partners. We envisage the new Rotokauri hub will be just as successful, quickly becoming the central place for people in that area to meet, socialise and work.”

Momento Espresso - part of a New Zealand owned and operated boutique café group - will be operating from the hub in early April.

Minister for Tertiary Education Steven Joyce officially opened the building at a ceremony on March 26th, with more than 100 industry and community guests.
