Music Pathway

Wintec always stood out to me as the place I wanted to study at even before finishing High school. I loved the idea of being able to gain knowledge and skills in areas out side of my major. I studied such papers as digital media, advertising and really enjoyed creating new skills and being able to combine it with music. The Media Arts course definitely went further than I ever could expect with the superb tutors, 24 hour facilities and the constant encouragement to reach more you're potential and more. The invaluable experience provided me with an easy transition into my job because of the "hands-on" learning approach, papers/assignments written with industry relevance and having the opportunity to do work experience (Internship).

Since graduating I am now working for a music production company in the studio as the studio production coordinator.
I work closely with major record companies and television broadcasters capturing and editing music videos and audio clips. I also make jingles for radio and music tracks for clients. Without studying the music course at Wintec and gaining the skills and experience I wouldn't have been able to work for the job I'm at today. A CD EP which was part of my end of year assignment has been circling the bars/restaurants in Auckland and some radio stations, has been a huge eye opener for people out there to see what I can do and what high production standard can come out from the Wintec studio.

I plan to continue working for Cloud Productions, growing and expanding my knowledge and skills. I will be working on my own music and also plan to venture overseas for more experience in the near future.
