Moving Image Pathway

There were a number of really great aspects to studying in the School of Media Arts. Firstly the encouragement to experiment and try new things was really important and secondly free access to the facilities, 24 hours a day. Also working with students from other disciplines or even just socialising with them gave the place a great feeling, and made learning a really enjoyable experience.

Now I am working freelance as an editor on a moving graphics project for an Auckland design company. Some of this work has come as a direct result of tutors helping me make connections with people in the industry, and this has led to further work as I have made contact with more people in Auckland.

Media Arts has helped me in several ways. The courses and facilities available provided me with all the skills I needed to work in the industry. The best help I have been given has been through tutors, not only while I was studying, but who have taken time to help me since I have finished.

There are lots of stories and memories I have from Media Arts that I will treasure forever. They are priceless. But so is the huge advantage Media Arts has given me when it comes to working in the industry.
