Personal Statement

"I teach across the Graphic Design and Digital Design Majors. Specifically I currently teach Year 2 Graphic Design core modules. I also teach Graphic Design Studies on the Intro Certificate program.

Our Graphic Design program focusses on the necessary production techniques associated with the domain, but also in the contextual awareness that makes our designers so valuable in the real world.

My own research practice involves Generative art and Chaotic Systems. This explores the mechanism of automatic drawing in an attempt to critique the modernist myth of originality. Developed using generative processes and computer technology it questions notions of authorship and the handmade within the genre of fine art drawing. The output from this research has been digital prints and gallery installation. Ongoing research may delve into artificial intelligence and art."
