Personal Statement

Moving Image is a fascinating subject within the Media Arts Certificate and Degree programmes. It not only equips students with great theoretical and practical skills in film making, it also compliments and supports the school's multi disciplined areas of learning.

Film making is an art form that brings people together as a team. In their roles they can offer different communication, technical or creative skills, yet ultimately are in the pursuit of one goal - to tell a story effectively. It is to this end why I enjoy teaching the Certificate in Moving Image class. To recognise not everyone is the same or share the same influences and to assist students in finding and developing their film making skills in a stimulating learning environment.

My background includes a Bachelor of Media Arts Degree, where I majored in Moving Image and publishing work as a writer and illustrator. I am currently continuing my exploration in visual storytelling with pre-production work on an animated stop motion short film.
