Personal Statement

The Media Arts programme has the flexibility to allow students to focus on their abilities and interests while providing interesting challenges. There is a high degree of choice with an exciting range of courses. It is a great working environment with a friendly supportive atmosphere and staff are given real opportunities to practice their craft. I would recommend this course because students are respected for their goals and ideas and there is a high degree of encouragement and trust, especially in relation to access to the technology for learning.

I have a MFA from Elam School of Fine Arts. Produced and directed short films, including The Last Surrealist and Lament for Barney Flanagan (an adaptation of the James K Baxter poem), and have made a number of documentaries, the latest of which is Colour & Ritual: the Art of Don Driver.
