Personal Statement

Dawn enjoys the creative energy of the Media Arts environment, and the chance to be involved in a variety of projects. Her responsibilities include the Media, Arts and Design newsletter, showing tour groups and schools around Media Arts facilities, helping organize Media Arts STAR courses and coordinating the Cut! National High Schools Short Video Competition.

Dawn has a particular passion for animation, particularly stop-motion. She focused on this while completing her Bachelor of Media Arts (Honours) in 2007 and produced the short film ?Swing?, which screened in the 2008 NZ International Film Festival. Her animation showreel can be viewed here. She recently taught a stop-motion animation weekend workshop as part of the Waikato Museum?s Waiclay events.

Dawn is currently studying towards her Master of Arts part-time.
