The Library Distance Service is provided for staff and students of Wintec who are teaching and studying outside of Hamilton.

Requesting Library material and assistance
You can request information and material through the Distance Request Form, by emailing the details to lbdes@wintec.ac.nz or by calling 07 834 8800 ext 8488.
When requesting information please supply your name, contact details, and as much of the following information as possible:
- Books: author, title, publisher, edition and date of publication
- Articles: journal title, volume and issue number, article title, author of the article, date and page numbers
We aim for a 24 hour turnaround time from when we receive your request. If there is any delay in sending you the requested material, you will be notified at which time you
If the Wintec Library doesn't hold the material you require, you can request that we obtain it for you. To do this, fill in the Interloan Forms with the details of the item.
Finding Resources
The Wintec Library provides links to the:
- Catalogue to find material that is currently owned by the Wintec Library including books and journals
- Library databases for further links to databases on subject or interest areas, many of which are full-text online
You'll need a current Wintec computer username and password to access many of these resources. Your username and password is available from the Student Helpdesk toll free on 0800 587 500 for all current Wintec staff and students.
Borrowing Privileges
As a student of Wintec, you are eligible for similar borrowing privileges as on-campus students.
In the case of material that is on Course Reserve or within the Reference Collection and therefore unable to leave the Library, we can supply photocopied sections of this material within the bounds of current copyright agreements and law. Alternatively, we can supply similar material on the same subject if this would be more appropriate for your needs.
Costs and Payments
As a student of Wintec, you are responsible for any fines and fees that you incur. If you require any material to be photocopied, the cost is 8 cents per A4 single sided black and white sheet.
