Bursary Centre

Wintec is proud to partner with City & Guilds to become a City & Guilds Bursary Centre. Bursary Centres' assist with collecting the bursary (educational grant) application forms as well as supporting the bursary winners with their enrolment process and during their chosen City & Guilds qualification.

Working with the City & Guilds International Foundation, Wintec students are now able to access bursaries for learners from financially underprivileged backgrounds. Read more about the International Foundation bursaries (educational grants) »

Students in the following programmes are eligible to apply:

• Existing students in Diploma Beauty Body and SPA Therapies
  

  Year One (RS0801) – who intend to continue with year two in 2011

• Existing students in Diploma in International Tourism
  

  Year One (CO0107) – who intend to continue with year two in 2011

• Existing students in Certificate in Catering
  

  (CH8902) who intend to continue and do Cert in Professional Cookery in 2011

• Existing students in Certificate in Travel Level 3 and Level 4
  

  (RS1001) who intend to continue and do the Diploma in International Tourism – Year One in 2011

  
  
• This does not apply to students in Hairdressing; Food and Beverage Studies

International Tourism

At the end of each semester (June and December) students are able to sit the City & Guilds exams. The papers for these external exams are despatched from City & Guilds in London and are returned there for marking. All tourism modules that are taught in the semester are assessed at the end of that semester in one exam.

Year one comprises a one and a half hour exam consisting of only multi choice questions and the year two exam is comprised of short answer questions in a 3 hour time frame.

The City & Guilds Diploma and Advanced Diploma are internationally recognised qualifications. If you are considering travelling overseas once you have completed your study, then to have an international qualification in your CV is definitely an advantage.
