The School of Education aims to provide quality world class education and training in teacher education, early childhood education and on-going professional development of teachers. It reflects the Wintec's concern to promote excellence and innovation in teaching and learning both with its own staff and in the wider community.

Fees Scholarships for Teachers

TESSOL Scholarships

The Ministry of Education provides a limited number of TESSOL (Teaching English in Schools to Speakers of Other Languages) Tuition Fees Scholarships for Teachers in Hamilton and Waikato primary and secondary schools who enrol in this programme.

Schools where there are ESOL-funded pupils are sent information packs about the TESSOL Scholarships at the beginning of the fourth school term each year, and applications usually close at the end of October. The Ministry of Education does not accept late applications.
