Programme Content
You will learn first aid knowledge around safety, scene assessment and management, primary assessment, levels of consciousness, airway management, cardiopulmonary resuscitation, use of Automated External Defibrillators (AED), choking management, bleeding, shock, burns, poisoning, soft tissue injury, heart attack and stroke, anaphylaxia, special wounds, head, neck and spinal injuries, fractures and dislocations, environmental conditions, and first aid kits.
You will receive CPR cards, manikin face shield, handouts, written manual, bandage and a sling.

Practical First Aid / Comprehensive Refresher (PFA/CFAR)

For One day, first day of Comprehensive First Aid course

NZQA Credits: 6402 / 6401
In order for you to complete a Comprehensive First Aid Refresher certificate, your current first aid certificate has to be:
- A validated NZQA Certificate issued by a NZQA registered first aid training provider
- Currently within the two year timeframe (i.e. not expired)
Programme Content
This course is designed to revalidate the Comprehensive First Aid certificate prior to the two year expiry date. It revisits content covered within the Comprehensive First Aid course.

Additional Information
All First Aid certificates are valid for two years from the date of issue. They are required to be refreshed within two years to ensure the certificate holder’s knowledge and skills remain current.
A Basic Life Support (BLS) course, incorporating NZQA unit 6402, is also available (code WTFA402). Course content is covered in the first four hours of the Comprehensive First Aid course.
