If you have completed the National Certificate in Industrial Measurement and Control (Level 4), or hold the Trade Certificate in Industrial Instrumentation then this programme is designed for you. You will be able to work in supervision, maintenance, engineering, and assistance with design of IMC systems in industries such as dairy, pulp and paper, steel, and petrochemical.
The National Certificate in Industrial Measurement and Control (Level 5) consists of theoretical study through a combination of distance learning and short courses. On-job units form a key part of this qualification and, in addition to your study at Wintec, you will have to complete the on-job unit standards (work place assessments). Wintec can offer assessment and registration of on-job unit standards.
Several of the unit standards in the National Diploma in Engineering (Level 6), Industrial Measurement and Control strand, may be taken as electives in this programme.

- Diagnose and correct faults in measurement and control systems
- Maintain complex control systems (elective off-job content)
- Thermodynamics and heat transfer
- Fluid mechanics
- Physical and chemical processes used in industry
- Safety-related instrumentation systems
- Earthing, shielding, and surge protection of industrial equipment
- Select, size, and specify control valves
- Select, size, and specify flow meters
- Design, test, and configure industrial data communication systems
- Describe and implement SCADA/HMI systems
