Personal Statement

Dr Vida Botes is the head of the School of Business, and was previously Director of the School of Accountancy at the Technikon Witwatersand , South Africa. Her role in the school involves providing strategic direction for the school and leadership in both research and academic matters. Vida also liaises with internal and external stakeholders.

Vida has more than fifteen years lecturing experience and has co-authored a number of text books. She has also presented papers at numerous international and national conferences.

Prior to her extensive career, Dr Botes worked in a firm of chartered accountants as well as being an accountant in a power supply company. She also consults in the areas of quality management accounting and quality management systems.
